This was actually Steve Hultay's idea, to use the echo chip from guitar effect boxes---aka stomp boxes. "they" tried to impress upon me with box #1 to use echo, but I thought they meant an echo chamber, which was not real effective. The result of using the PT2399 effects chip? Amazing clarity! They always give me grief for not wearing clothes--sorry! Frank Attachment: 052514-Box175--Good Angels Have Arrived to See This Cunt Naked--To See Him---EQ-.wav (Downloaded 917 times)

Hi Frank, There is a measurable increase in clarity. I remember Keith's stream experiments used to benefit from the mild echo of using skype as part of his process. Good job. Ron

Hi Frank, Yes, its great quality. I have a question - what clock frequency and delay time did you use? I presume you built the chip directly into the box, rather than use a commercial unit of some kind that contains this chip? regards, JEFF

I have never measure the clock frequency, but most of the time I set the delay to minimum. You can get echo kits off ebay. Frank

The PT2399 is a tough chip.... If you are inexperienced in building there are a few guitar stomboxes that use it. Rogue Analog delay. Belcat analog delay. Modtone analog delay.... All three of those are the same unit, just skinned different and rebranded. The "Analog" refers to the sound style of the delay....not necessarily a true BBD delay also the NADY MM-14FX is a pt2399 delay built on to a 4 channel battery powered mixer..... Belton is also making Digi-Log solidstate digital reverb module that goes for about 15 bucks.....probably need OPamps on the front and the back to make it useable.
