I am trying to figure out how to make the text display which attatches itself to the Ovilus x so you can read what its saying, is it hard to make and get the parts easy. Being from the UK, Bill told me in the numorous emails I sent to him and he sent back, that he cannot send any of his products to the UK....thanks bill!. I understand that he has licensing issues with shipping, but I would have thought he would have sorted all that out by now.

So I,m trying to figure out how to make a device that will read me the words on text.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

Thanks, I went to the site. Just got to figure it out now. I'm trying to build a speakerjet talker device, which picks up on the phonetic only. Wish I had instructions!..sigh

British,

The speakjet chip is a pre-programmed pic computer that generates speech when it is fed instructions and data to form sounds. If you use a pc to control the chip you need an interface board with a serial connection and a users program for the pc.

If you use an arduino computer board and a voice box shield from sparkfun http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9799 , you can get most control programs you need.

Hi joe, I'm halfway completing my talker project. I brought an arduino starter kit and love it!.

Will hopefully have a finished design next month. Will post on my YouTube when I do and let you know.

Thanks
