When you say "mute the line",are you inputting your voice through the line input or mike input.(I use line input from a mike pre-amp.)

Bottom line is, whether you input through line or mike,in the playback box only wave should be up,all others down or muted. The wave controls the output of the sound card after it's passed through dc6 or 7.You are hearing the input to dc7 as well.

If you input your voice from a pre-amp into the line input you could use one channel for voice and the other for noise, then combine in dc7 live file converter.

Last thoughts ,some sound card softwares don't allow muting of line playback. They always allow mike muting. Are you using Windows sound panels? The Windows ones are the simplest for dc6/7 arrangements.
