I know we are having some technical challenges....that said; I still record. Last evening, when it seemed not too active or downright still...I was impressed to "listen"...I asked for "something good" --see what you think/hear....and thanks. Thank you all so much. Moran, Lynn & Morag -- I believe it to be my Brother or Dad. The voice isn't exact...but; has a familar edge to it...also, on this same clip -- I hear an "over-voice" telling them to "practice".....I didn't post the next part....but; believe to hear, next.....Deb-Bee.....like they were practicing..... will try to post here...
I have done family genealogy for nine years now...and know so many, if only by name...that I think all the clans show up at one time or another...and the interested ones......visit/work here alot.....
in Gratitude ~ Deborah.

On my computer, I had to slow this one down to hear what you are Deb. Was waiting for others to comment on it first though because I was curious to find out if anyone else here needed to slow it down to hear it too but I guess not -- so it could be that sometimes the player (WMP) I bring these clips up in to listen to plays things a little faster than how the clip is meant to be heard. Will just load them from now on directly into Cool Edit to avoid this problem.

I hear the first utterance as you do in this one Deb. In the second part, on first listen I'm hearing differently but then when I raised the pitch on it, I'm hearing what sounds like Debbie in there too ... raising the pitch on that part seems to bring out that name. Not surprising in evp with overlays.
Could you tell us what sound editor you are using Deb? Thanks.

Good morning Linda. I use Clear Voice Denoiser. I use the Professional Mode, at the Telecommunications Setting w/a very low Noise Reduction Degree, typically no more than 2-4. This was rather clear, to me, so it was treated lightly. Thanks for listening and commenting. Have a good day. ~ Deborah. Last edited on Mar 23rd, 2009 04:14 AM by Deborah |

Oh, so you only load your clips in Clear Voice to listen to them? That's cool. Really no point in loading them into an editor anyways when most of the time all that needs to be done to them is a little bit of denoising, if at all.
At any rate, the second part of your clip is very clear to me but I'm not hearing what you are in it. Who's to say which interpretation of that part is correct or incorrect but I'm just glad that by raising the pitch of it, I was able to catch what you think you are hearing in it.
At any rate, although I have to turn the volume up to hear things better, my sense of pitch is excellent. I have a very good ear for music and was an acappella soloist in my high school choir and also in my church choir too -- also sang solo in community theater too. I am also a natural harmonizer... lol, that runs in my family. So just saying that although I have to amp things up now... I'm still pitch perfect.

Here's a karioke I sang and recorded today... it's only a few seconds long but just wanted to demonstrate my sense of pitch.

lol, I would NEVER sing publicly at a Karioke place and my days of public singing anywhere ended right after high school.
I used to have a better voice than I do now though but just wanted to show you that I'm not tone deaf.
Just listening to that clip again and I'm a little off in some notes but thankfully I'm able to recognize when something is off tune.
PS... funny that you say that you would put up a real fuss if anyone tried to nudge you into singing in front of other people! I'm not really like that because I grew up in a "singing" family but if anyone forced me to sing in public again, like my choir teacher or the pastor of my church did when I was a kid, I would be making a mad dash to the door in no time!
