I have had interesting results with using Stefan Bion's
EVPmaker.
Although I must admit that I still continue to question if perhaps maybe the answer's that I am getting are just coincidental?
So this morning I decided to try a semi controlled test to see if I could use a control word of my choice.
I ask the spirit's that if they indeed could use evpmaker to help them to communicate with this side to please repeat my test word of "Cypress".
(The city that I live in).
The raw material I used for this test was a news broadcast (In English) that I recorded last year.I had the setting's on evpmaker set as "From 200 ms" "To 100 ms" and z-cross checked.
I also checked the recording I used to be sure that it did not contain the word "Cypress".
This clip is unchanged from the way it was recorded,
The last sound you will hear I believe to be the word of "Cypress"
In this clip you will hear me say "The Word is Cypress"
Thanks
Ray

Hi Ray,

Excellent experiment! There should be more like this. In order to work with a method and know that it is somewhat valid, controlled experiments should be done first.

For example, if you recorded for 10 words, but spirit was only able to get 7 through, anf out of that 7 you only get to hear two - it still validates that you are communicating. In my opinion, 2 out of 10 is still very good for evp.

Unfortunately, most people never do this kind of experiment. And if they do, when they hear the words repeated - they will realize that spirit can only make a word sound like the word they're trying to say if the background source is composed of formants of words that will allow them to get their words across.

I hope to hear more like this.

Keith

If I may refer to my previous posts, I can show that what Ray is doing is possible, and evidential:

Well its now been a few days since I recorded the above post(The Test Word Cypress)and I have had some more time to examine that clip and the rest of the recording it came from. The entire recording was a little less than 32 seconds long while the clip that was posted was only 5.09 seconds from that. From that 5.09 seconds of recording I not only hear my test word (Cypress) but I hear much more.
First I hear "Receiving Ray" almost like a person talking with a radio,
Second I hear "So Take a break Ray".."So check your Pressure" (Blood?).."Check your Heart" then finally I hear "You Live in Cypress" (Joecioppi you are correct).
So much information in such a little time span and the only processing that was done was to slow the clips down by 30% maximum and add some silence (500MS) between phrase's.
So here are my test results to share with all of you,
Bottomline is I did indeed get my test word of "Cypress"
(The city where I live) But what really floor's me is 1.calling me by name, and
2.The fact that four years ago I had an quadruple open heart bypass surgery.
So the question is? Am I making these sounds fit? or are they real?
Thanks for your comments Keith and your test methods are inspiring and correct I will agree they should be done..
I will post the sections I have described above..
If theres any doubt
Remember you can always "As a test' examine my first post and see if you get the same results.
Thanks
Ray

Finally here's the one with my test word of "Cypress"
"You live in Cypress"
Of all the clips,
I had to deamp the first sound on this one (But you can still hear it)
that was the only processing done other than reducing the speed and seperating phrase's with silence.

Please comments WELCOME
Thanks
Ray
