An odd situation, where I could do with some help. Attached is a pic of an experiment on my *cough* workbench, it's really our dining room table. Top left is a speaker, on the right a small audio amp and underneath is what used to be a micro-cassette recorder.  The recorder has been stripped of mechanism and other parts and made to output what would have gone on to tape...giving direct EVP. Now, the problem is, that tapping on the recorder circuit board, or running a nail along or whatever, results in sound from the speaker. All well and good ? nope, there's no microphone attached !!! So, i'm wondering how on earth sound is output to the amp when there's no microphone ? I thought it might be the speaker, acting as a microphone. But, no sound comes from that and the same effect exists when headphones are directly plugged in to the recorder. A head scratcher !  |

Mechanical vibrations can cause capacitance variations of the components on the board, which leads to variations of the electric current. If amplified, these vibrations become audible as sound. So nothing paranormal...   |

hehe, I don't think I actually wondered about it like that Thanks for the tip, an odd effect though and went on to form the main circuit for the Anrede because of it. |
