During a session on 02/04/2013 I asked Spirit to say their own names (for purposes of identification)- many did. The name "CLAYTON" kept coming up and try as I might I couldn't find an established Clayton family in my area. 2 days later an old citrus plant caught fire on S. Clayton St. in the next town- Mt. Dora, FL...nearby propane tanks became an immediate public safety concern- The city squelched the news report- wouldn't even have known but a friend of mine lives on Clayton! (Forgot all about her address till she reminded me; I was asking everyone I knew if they knew the Clayton family) The attached file contains all 7 Claytons. Hi Rick, I'm using a Sangean "Ghost Box" frequency scanner and an Olympus digital voice recorder -My jaw dropped when I heard the results! This particular clip came from the 3rd rec. session -17 individuals said either their own names or the names of Loved Ones; Very encouraging! (So far the messages are only a 1-4 syllables in length.) Hi Rachel, You can find a ghost box on Ebay. Some come with additional speakers (a nice accessory)...My only suggestion- conducting sessions in the presence of other people, it's tempting to shout out what you hear- it's hardly ever what you initially think it is (results in cluttered Q and A). Via a radio Ghost Box, Spirit-Speak is loud (plus) but unfortunately "dies off" rather quickly- (e.g. 'Good Morning'- the "good" is loud and proud...the "morning" hushed.) Happy Recording! Kenda

Hi Rachel, The "for entertainment purposes" disclaimer comes standard with all 'widely distributed' paranormal research equipment/software- lawsuit prevention. (Immediately relegates the activity to game=frivolity status- not a great message.) Precisely why Ouija (unjustly) gets a bad rap- really comes down to the user's intention. I've been "Beta-testing" Spud*Pickles' Ghost Radar Legacy app, Krugism's Ghost Speaker -Android ver...Wanted to see exactly what percentage of the 'communication' (if any) produced a "hit" -determined by specific language and concepts contained in either singular "word lists" or persistent word patterns... And whether or not Spirit might gain proficiency using it over a period of time. Pretty interesting results (many times related to specific human activity occurring at the particular moment) -But all in all I wouldn't dispense with conventional EVP collection in favor of either one. I do like the ghost box. Spirit seems to find it relatively easy to use, Great enunciation. It's not clear whether entities "farm" broadcasts for verbiage or simply uses the various frequencies(??) Hi Rachel, Call me a cock-eyed optimist  I'm THE most curious person I know...can't help exploring, no matter how lame, obvious or lacking a technique initially appears- I like to think Spirit celebrates and rewards good intentions and dedication...also believe there's a learning curve for those on the other side (have HEARD it in action; Recorded in a Spiritualist Camp- LOUD COMMUNICATION!!...newbies learn to communicate forcefully right along with burgeoning mediums) Consequently, I don't jettison anything too quickly. Per example, a friend of mine photographs Spirit...lights and orbs just appear for her, no matter what she's using to catch them- phone, camera, whatever. Others in the room can snap the exact same area, same time- nothing. Worked with a planchette alone for a time and really enjoyed the process...knowing full well it's not me manipulating the object; Helped me get accustomed to shutting down the mind and to the particular sensations associated with physical Spirit interaction. Kind of feel unless an entity is trapped in a building's "atmosphere" and energetic conditions are absolutely optimum (e. g. running or flowing water nearby, mineral deposits etc.), free-air communication seems a catch as catch can endeavor. New Spirits and very old Spirits are probably at a disadvantage; something I hope alternative methods might compensate for- so I continue to explore  Take care, Kenda

Hi Rachel, Sorry, convoluted thought process to blame I meant to say: It appears only certain conditions make it possible for an entity to affect the physical plane consistently- e. g. (a) The presence of an earthbound, intelligent Spirit (b) Availability of an energy "pump" in the immediate vicinity -flowing water, mineral deposits and/or a physical medium. *Not to rule out either the heavy-duty residual entity or the very energetic "drop-in" or "passer-by." However, it does seem difficult for Spirit to interact under lesser conditions (Energetically speaking, my home is probably ill-equipped) -Visiting entities are at a disadvantage; Consequently, recording free-air, it's a challenge to hear them. Hi Rachel, If I inadvertently hit a nerve(??, didn't mean to :-( Believe me I don't pretend to know HOW things work on the other side...just know what current ITC research postulates coupled with what I've experienced. Per experience, Spirit appears reticent to say much of substance about life on the other side (would we understand??) The only reason I know certain individuals were out-of-body is because I recognized the voices and the particular manner of speaking- "Pet names" etc...I record in the wee hours of the morning, the individuals were asleep at the time. Hi Rachel, Checked your site out, nice! If you don't mind me asking, what program do you use to de-noise? They were a chatty bunch at Cambridge, Love it! Believe me I absolutely know where you're coming from- I do. This is a site for enthusiasts so- Have been doing this too long- I'm no longer walking on eggshells where EVP is concerned. Not in the name of science and certainly not for skeptics. Done. Spirits exist (OK, energy beings of some kind-), both you and I know that. Me sitting alone in a quiet house recording utterances on a shielded radio is no different from you recording anywhere; Science won't authenticate one over the other- Not even if an entity materialized and slapped the sound engineer upside the head. He'd be ostracized and instantly become one of us. We're all in the same boat. The clip below is quite intelligible all the way 'round- guess they're getting more adept at using the radio! Funny you should mention the Caves...For entertainment purposes only, I love watching "Ghost Hunters." Primarily because it amazes me how much they MISS (Akin to a vaudevillian troupe at times). The Hell Fire Caves episode, they were visibly frightened a lot of the time...I heard Spirit speaking very clearly in several places during the piece but they didn't key on any of it. Enthusiast that I am (alright, zealot)- I recorded the show and analyzed the audio, comparing it to the show's track. Definitely a man and a woman talking...the man proclaims he could, "Get you on the ground and SNAP your head off." The woman was speaking to the man- she addressed him by name...was a while back, have to look in my files- "George" something- I'll find it. Long and the short of it, the crew took the J the Ripper tour, Whitehall; On a hunch, I looked through the list of probable suspects- Lo and behold, there was GEORGE what's-his-name!! I'd wager they had an undesirable escort. Wonder how many attachments they've accumulated over the years? (Chills just thinking about it) Kenda

I'll dig them out, they're on flash-drive somewhere...had a hunch it wouldn't go over with the Ghost Hunters crew ...AND it's not the most uplifting subject, "snapping" the heads off people. -Simply could not believe they missed such obvious spirit-speak
