There are tons of software out there to do this with, even an iPhone app. A quick and dirty 30 second google search pulled this up for PC computers: http://www.nicolasfournel.com/audiopaint.htm

Yes, When I began working with spectrographs, I tested and used software for blind people called vOICe. It's how I made the youtube video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58u0EMp3swg Go to the halfwaty point and you will see where I have converted an image into sound. Keith

I guess we will have to go and poke about a bit longer until something more satisfactory comes about. Like anything else use the tools that you feel most comfortable with. :D Long ago I had written a small assembler program that ran on an Apple II computer through the tape input and record output jacks to convert images to sound and vice-versa. It was very crude but would make noises much like static and dolphin calls and pops. Now you all have me wondering if the random CMOS sensor pickup noise one gets when doing long, night time exposures may contain messages, since it is widely believed within ITC community that there is order in the seeming chaos of atmospheric/electronic "noise". Further area to roam and explore... I see a few nights ahead of me taking photographs with my lens cap on. Last edited on Sep 17th, 2012 08:17 PM by Sparkz |
