I am looking to brighten up the faces so they stand out better from the "background noise".

Taking the premiss that lack of sound is black or dark.... what would light or bright be as sound?

I was led to wind chimes.  A bright cheerful sound... a bight light source?

This hit me about 5:30 this morning. I spent a little time finding and listening to various sound clips and came upon one that felt right.

I did a very quickly thrown together a test, and here was the first result.

Promising.

I'll conduct a proper study tomorrow.

Cheers
Frank

Felt compelled to set up the experiment tonight.

Very first scroll through the spectrograph yielded this.

VERY promising.

Almost a full figure inside the box here.  Victorian era gent in topper and tails, with a neat mustache.

The gentleman with the top hat & tails is a great image.

Looks like you are heading down a good path with the noise file you are using.

Congrats,
Ron
