Hi Alison....Left recorder on for a period at night. There's no one else in the house.I can do this when my wife works nights. I've caught quite a few voices this way.

The voices are very clear. Couldn't be a neighbor, or a TV left on, could it?

Hi Chris,

Nice capture! It is really surprising what we can catch using that method. I have left my recorder on through the night on voice activated and have been astonished at some of the stuff I have recorded, well done.

Male says "From Texas"

Female with European accent says.. "I'm from Europe* you know"

*(growing up I considered having ethnic parents only as a handicap, however can now appreciate all the positives)

Hello Chris,

Here's a breakdown of what I hear, both in your raw file and my own filtered version:

From 0 to 01.0 seconds....I hear a very quick:   There's a cop

From 3.7 to 5.8 seconds...I hear a medium pitch response that seems to say:   Come on up

From 8.0 to 11.7 seconds I hear a low pitched response that seems to say:  Catch up...Ketchup...Catch em or something like that.

This is followed by  what sounds like a child's voice that responds:  Yes

Then an even lower pitched response seems to reply:  Hurry up

From 11.8 to 13.2 seconds a higher pitch response seems to say:  F_ck that cop

From 13.2 to 15.9 seconds, the lower pitch respondent from above seems to say:   Disconnect (something)

Thanks for posting this,
Ron

The house has no history, first a family and their dog then my parents then me and the wife. There is history 100 feet to the south where a first world war zeppelin was shot down and all crew died.Anyone interested...check 'The Potters Bar Zeppelin' on the net.
Chris.

Chris,

Now that sounds interesting. Is Potter's Bar near Birmingham?
