This I think explains why cheap or lower sampling rate recorders seem to make EVP!

The video is instructive and shows how evp can be simulated by using inaudible(ultrasound) to transfer an audible recording to a recording device. This is similar to blaming citizen band transmissions for evps. The evps we are interested in are responses to questions with information that was not prepared beforehand. The video is very well done but doesn't explain intelligent responses recorded during evp sessions when there is no modulated ultrasound present.

ah right, yep I understand that but what I was actually thinking is does it give us a new idea for real EVP! What if real EVP are a result of a happy chance of frequencies and recorders? We often hear that spirit is a faster vibration, well, this would be a natural progression! I am looking into ultrasound mics and checking if my sound cards can handle the input. One can easily graphically display an ultrasound signal on screen, if there appears to be a signal then that section can be reduced in frequency to hear a representation of it. What do you think?

Sorry Mike..I have been following my premise that evps are inherent in the instrument and external noise, not coherent frequencies like an inaudible ultra sound or inaudible very low freq sound. I have gotten results from random noise that is used as random data in a voice synthesizer ...in fact I have gotten multiple voices in seemingly conversations between themselves I was led to these results by noting that many paranormal communications are based on random shuffled cards or tossed coins...and seem to contain rational responses and comments

I see where you are coming from! But feel this ultrasound idea is worthy of investigation, if nothing else I'll be able to listen in on the weird world of bats and insects that use this range!

I think you are going to learn useful things by studying ultrasound. Please keep posting your experiments and describe your equipment...I for one am very interested

Ahh, Mike....I see you are (were) looking into Ultrasound. That is my comment (XRayCam) at that link on youtube. Small world isn't it?? LOL I am looking into getting a ready made Ultrasonic receiver from eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/170646304739?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 There are 3 or 4 models up for sale... If all else fails, I too am interested in listening to bats and the occasional multi-legged little buddies :-) Last edited on Nov 25th, 2011 10:29 PM by clockdryve |

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!! ![]() Step away from the Buy it Now button ![]() You can get an ultrasonic transducer for a few bucks online.....either new or used. If you had an old dynamic mic, you could replace the electret mic with the transducer. Link to mouser electronics: http://www.mouser.com/Search/Refine.aspx?Keyword=ultrasonic+transducer You could build one from schematics: http://pw1.netcom.com/~t-rex/BatDetector.html If you wish to build one from a kit: http://www.econvergence.net/batdet.htm OR...... http://www.midnightscience.com/ultra-kits.html I built one from a kit a couple of years back. It works just peachy-keen. I can hear bats clicking away. I can hear mice - running water - rubbing your fingers together - etc. Here's a pic of mine.............. Attached Image (viewed 234 times):

Hmm...I might need to try that :-) I've heard that rubbing finger prints together will make Ultrasonic sounds...I used to mess around and see if I could get a cats attention by doing that...but I didn't notice any "extra" attention...but you know cats -- They "shifty" little fellows :-)

I got a bat detector and this can hear all of the above very well. No sign of spirit however. Sorry for my lack of attendance here, I still follow all I can but am in the middle of some very big and rather nice life changes.
