Welcome Cadogan,

There are a variety of audio programs that can be used to process an EVP.  I myself use cool edit pro and / or nero wave editor as my primary programs.  I also use diamond cut,  but only for surgical applications when trying to identify a single voice on a single frequency.

A lot of people use Audacity,  which is a free audio program.

You can download Audacity at:  http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

If you do a google search with:   evp +audacity    it will bring up several websites that show you how to set up and use Audacity with EVPs.

You can also upload your clips (within size limits) here for us to listen to should you seek input or second opinions.

If you need help setting up or using these programs,  feel free to ask.

Regards,
Ron

I use DC7 so I'm not sure how if DC6 has the same filters....but assuming it does.....

Option - 1

Open your file in DC6

From the task bar select Filter

Look for and select Continuous Noise

A new window opens

Click the Sample Noise button to load the profile of your clip

For starters....set your sliders to the following:

Attack   50

Release   100

Attenuation   25

With Normal CNF showing in the window below the sliders:

Click the Preview button

Your clip will start playing in a loop.  You can raise or lower the Attenuation if you want to.

You can also click the Up or Down arrows of Shift Threshold (located above reset button)

Option - 2

Open your file in DC6

From the task bar select  Forensics

Select EZ Forensics

A new window opens up.

From the drop down menu select  AFDF – Heavy Random Noise Reduction (or Heavy General )

Hit the Preview Button to start the filter.

Adjust the output level for comfort.

See the turquoise / blue square on the screen?

Click and drag the button down and around and start fishing.

You might be surprised at the additional stuff you can hear.

Hope this helps,
Ron

Hi Cadogan,

Are these 2 clips you posted enhanced or raw?

If they are enhanced,  could you please post the raw clips.

Thanks,
Ron

That would be great. I can hear voices. I may be able to hear more from the raw portions.

Don't worry about it.   I think we have all done that.   I know I have.

With regard to 1.mp3,  I hear the following:

Time Index  0.0.0 - 0.02.278

Male voice says:  "this is my land"

Time Index  0.02.278 - 0.04.557

(Too Garbled)

Time index  0.04.557 -  end of clip

Different male voice says:  "where are you (at)"

If you'd like,  I can upload a tweaked version of this and maybe you can hear what I do.   It's up to you.

Regards,
Ron

Here's the file.  I used nero to normalize the clip and then cool edit pro with a specific noise reduction setting to bring out the subtle voice(s).

The hi - low popping sounds as you call it could be machine noise.  If your Olympus is set on High sensitivity it could be picking up it's own circuitry.

You may have to listen to this clip a few times before the voices come out to the surface.  It's kinda like letting your eyes adjust upon entering a darkened room.  Same thing applies to listening to EVPs.

Let me know if you can hear anything.

Ron

Here's 2.mp3.   It starts out by someone saying "there's" and gets a bit convoluted from there.

I'll have to work this a bit longer to see if there's anything there or not.

Probably won't be till tomorrow before I can get back to it.

Hello Eyewave,

Thanks for clearing up the lack of EZ Forensics in DC6.

Nice work on ID-ing the “I’m Here”  :thumbup1:

I hear it clear as a bell.

Cadogan,

The following clip is from 2.mp3

It is from Time Index  0.0.229 – 0.03.334

What I hear is sort of a chanting voice that says:  “(you’re) laid to waste….we don’t like the sight of you”

I tweaked it a bit more and am hoping you can hear it.

Ron

The following clip is also from 2.mp3

It is from Time Index  0.02.823 – 0.07.242

What I hear is sort of a lower pitch male saying:  “how’s the skateboard”  or something phonetically along those lines.

Maybe someone else could weigh in with his or her interpretation.

The musical sounds after this voice may or may not be something.  It is hard to say because of the multiple processing that has been done.

The following is the last of clip  2.mp3

It is from Time Index  0.07.148 – End of Clip

It starts out with the voice that Eyewave identified as saying:   “I’m Here”

This is immediately followed by a chanting voice that seems to say:   This is a disgrace…no one needs me

Thanks for letting us listen to,  dissect  and re-post your clip.  I hope we did good.

As always,  we’re here to help,  so please feel free to pose any questions, comments and concerns.

Ron
