Welcome to the forum! It is very interesting to meet other people and learn what their reasons are for working with spirit, pursuing knowledge on matters of life after death. Your reason sounds very noble.
Perhaps we'll meet one day, being located so close geographically and all.....
I am certain that your search will not be in vain......and I can also say that other means should be pursued as well, such as readings from truly gifted pyschics/mediums...and of course things such as the meditation that you speak of. I can say that ITC is only one small facet of the diamondof communication with spirit.
