 Oh not at all, Joe Public might, but that's because they don't know anything about the subject and it's safer to scoff.

I'll get my wife to have a look at this thread, she has the same situation and hers is based on the fan she has for getting to sleep.
I've heard similar too...something happens to get the mind into the correct state for receiving and so, some folks do.

Perhaps, if we are self trained to pick up on the slightest whisper, for EVP, then such things are probably easier to imagine happening.
