Hi Richard, I like the Oly DS-30. It is quiet and when you get an EVP, it is obvious, and usually Class A. I also know that we all hear B's and below differently. I have gotten the same EVP on two recorders twice. The woman who witnessed it is now dead, unfortunately, and I didn't realize this was an issue at the time, so I deleted one of them. As for what we all hear, well, as we have mentioned many times before, it depends on many factors--primarily psychological, physiological, and external "noise." Research has shown that even with isolated human utterances, many different interpretations abound. Without context, meaning is very difficult to determine, even when the voice may be "clear," so to speak. It's even more difficult with EVP. You may butt in at any time. Vicki
