It's a stark reminder that not only are we to live our lives as decent human beings to the point where we are beyond reproach, and this includes giving up any physical and emotional addictions we may have too, we also have a responsibility to carefully examine those personal spiritual truths that are presented to us on a daily basis and to pay attention to them and try to understand them to the best of our ability. It's not an easy road to follow and sometimes it's a very lonely one too because it's also the one that's less traveled. But once one keeps on it and does not turn back, the rewards are immeasurably greater than one can ever imagine.
