 Formerly I have just taken snapshots of the screen with various digi-cameras and my cell phone.  ISO and shutter speed varied the effects drastically.
Thought I would film it with an old VHS camcorder. 

There is a bit of horizontal noise on this old camcorder, but it worked.

The snapshots are of a larger color CRT, pausing the VHS camcorder intermittently.
