Yes, I used a similar technique to reduce the noise from snapshots of my nestbox video cam: 1.) I store 8 consecutive frames, then combine them pairwise using the "average" math function of Paint Shop Pro. The result are 4 images with reduced noise to 50%. 2.) These 4 images are being processed in the same way, resulting in 2 images with the noise recuced to 25%. 3.) Eventually I do the same with the last 2 images, and I get 1 image with 12,5% noise. This technique should be very helpful also for ITC images. However, it only works if the actual object doesn't move.
