Kit Here From what i understand so far about the varicap (varactor diode) is that it is controlled by voltage, and the tuning knob on this kit is a 50k pot. Now what I assume I need is a way to replace this 50k pot with a circuit to creep up the voltage in steps in order to sweep. A capacitor resistor circuit sounds about right, but then that would be a gradual increase or decrease in voltage and not a series of sweep 'steps' like a typical ghost box would do. Would I need something that will pulse square waves like a 555 timer chip? (I have a ton of those) Will this kit work as a ghost box if modified? Thanks. Last edited on Jun 3rd, 2014 04:11 PM by |
