Welcome to the forum. Your mention of hydromancy and scrying perked up my ears, and I note that you express an experience that indicates what we are tying to teach others - that the numbers of ways in which we can communicate with spirit is uncountable, and that it has been around since the beginning of time (which doesn't exist anyway), and that it is perfectly normal.
