Apparently there are two revisions of this product and you will not know which you'll have just for the looking. The OLDER ones have the LPC header inside that you can bend over, or as I did, extended the lines to a switch. Newer ones have a ribbon cable connecting the two boards together. Cutting the "mute" wire does not allow it to scan. But I betchya that the board artwork is similar between the two so one just has to visually trace where that last, upper left pin *would* have been and break/mod that line.
Haven't actually USED mine yet, but it definitely is much quieter than other mods I heard where the radio sharply pops. This one just sorta blanks, tunes, blanks, etc. Still working up the guts and moral fortitude. I wonder if there is a standard list of protocols/behavior for this sort of thing, considering that we are speaking with intelligent agents.
