The Beginning
Since youth, I have always had an interest in the paranormal. The closest I ever came to a personal experience was when I saw what appeared to be ball lightning zooming around outside the living room of my house, around the age of 12.
In March of 2005, I watched the movie White Noise, which came out in the theaters in January of 2005. Being a horror movie junkie, it was at the top of my list to watch. I watched it, thought it was great, and that was all that came of it.
The Casual Phone Call
One day in May of 2005, I receive a phone call from a personal friend, Joey. During our casual conversation he tells me he watched the movie White Noise and enjoyed it. He then tells me that the movie was influenced by actual phenomena, EVP (electronic voice phenomena). I had never heard of it, and Joey provided me with the link to the AAEVP (American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena) website. I told him it sounded interesting, and I would check it out.
A Seed is Planted
As a computer "techie", I couldn’t pass up the chance to find out if something like this was real. If it was real, then my good friend and oracle Google would surely provide me with the facts. So I read. And then I read some more. The more I searched, the more information I found. And then on the AAEVP website I found something I wasn’t expecting. A downloadable free book Voices of Eternity on the subject of EVP, written by Sarah Estep (the founder of AAEVP). A free book? Why would someone offer a free book? This fact alone had quite an impression on me. Not only could I find plenty of information supporting the validity of EVP, but I could also read a book written about the subject by someone with experience in this area? So I started reading it on my computer that day, and finished about half of it. It was so interesting I couldn't put it down. The next day normal chaos resumed, and it ended up on the bookshelf. (I had printed it out).
Critical Climax
At this point in my life, I was trying to climb out of a rut. Throughout my twenties I made countless bad decisions & career changes. To put it simply, this was the lowest point in my life. Between July and September, I had several close experiences with death. During these times, I would faintly recall the things I had read about in Voices of Eternity. Though I was ignoring it, there was just something that kept bringing me back to thinking about it. This was the beginning of the turning point in my life.
First Contact
In November of 2005 I started a new job, and things were changing for the better. Recalling Sarah Estep’s book, I pulled it off of the shelf and finished reading it. Now I was ready to try it. A cheap $40 cassette recorder was purchased at the local Walmart & put into action. On November 3rd, 2005 I made my first attempt to record evp. I pushed record on the tape recorder and asked my questions. The recording lasted about 20 minutes. My headphones were plugged in, I rewound the tape, and listened for a reply. Nothing. So I tried again, recording for another 20 minutes. It was then that I heard something. I couldn’t understand it, but I could hear what appeared to be a voice speaking in a very fast, peculiar rhythm. (click here to listen) (Note: this is not a very good example of evp, and it's not meant to be. Not everyone achieves phenomenal results when recording, in fact very few do. If a person were to pick up a recorder for the first time and attempt recording, they might record something very similar.)
I thought to myself “is that the peculiar cadence and sound of evp that I’ve been reading about?” Intriguing as it was, I was not yet fully convinced; However, I was ecstatic to record something that could not be explained , and this would become "day one"- the day when my enthusiasm for research of communication with the afterlife began. Further research would later erase any doubts that I had.
First Successful Video ITC Attempt
My first successful Video ITC experiment was conducted on July 30, 2006. I had made a previous attempt months prior using the "white static" television screen method, with no success. The pictures of the first successful Video ITC recording can be found on the first files page. Sessions were conducted using a Sony DCR-TRV38 camcorder and a variety of televisions. It was a rather refreshing break from evp work. After a short period of time, my work quickly gravitated towards collection of images from the other side. You will notice that the pictures improve in quality and size as the work progresses and modifications are made.
ITC Bridge.com is created
This website was first published to the internet on September 3rd, 2006.
Reflection Photography
After reading an article about Diana and Alan Bennett's trans-dimensional imaging in the quarterly AAEVP NewsJournal, I felt inspired to try their method in November, 2006. The Bennetts have received wonderful pictures using a high-resolution camera, crystals, mirrors, water, and light. To read about their work, click here. I don't have a high resolution camera in my possession, so I tried various modifications. The result was a new kind of picture, with different characteristics than Video ITC, but using the same principles as Mr. and Mrs. Bennett.
ITC Bridge Forum is created
The ITC Bridge forum was launched on January 1st, 2007. I felt that there was a need for a fully public forum in which people could share their experiences and read the experiences of others. The creation of this website and forum was quite a challenge - something I learned along the way as I came to it. Can't you tell?
Journey of Self-Awareness
When a person comes to realize that life continues after we die here on this physical earth, drastic changes can occur in their outlook on life. Would you act differently if you knew that someone was always with you? I started to ask myself questions like: "Why am I here?" "What should I be doing with my life?" and "If there is evidence of life after death, why aren't more people aware of it?" This website is the by-product of that internal thought process.
Currently (3-31-07)
Nowadays I spend my weekends conducting and attempting to perfect reflection photography/W.A.R.R.P. experiments using a variety of methods. Most of my experimental time is spent on spirit photography, followed by direct radio voice and electronic instrumentation - in that order. To date I have recorded a library of more than 1,000 ITC pictures - mostly using water. Upon occasion I may get the opportunity to "play around with" basic electronic circuits when trying for real-time voice.
My main focus is to get people interested in finding the answers for themselves.
